Get ready for the ultimate ZORB adventure at the birthplace of one of New Zealand’s most iconic experiences. Since Andrew and David Akers invented and developed the world’s first ZORB site here in Rotorua in 1997, visitors have been superman diving into giant inflatable balls and rolling down the slopes of Mt Ngongotaha in fits of uncontrollable laughter. Today, Rotorua remains the only place in New Zealand where this wonderfully bizarre bucket-list activity can be experienced.
After check-in and a quick safety briefing, it’s time to discover all four of ZORB Rotorua’s legendary ball-rolling tracks. Race down the 250m Straight Track, twist through six giant corners on the 350m Sidewinder — the longest and twistiest track in the world — conquer the world’s fastest, longest, and steepest downhill ball-rolling track on the adrenaline-pumping MEGA, and finish with the newest addition, the PIPELINE, featuring playful wiggles, sweeping turns, an arboreal tunnel, and a thrilling half-pipe finale. Depending on the track, riders can roll solo or share the experience with up to three others, while 40 litres of water, cool in summer and warm in winter, keeps the fun flowing all year round.
What makes this experience truly special is the chance to experience the complete collection of tracks at the very place where ZORB was born. From friendly races and giant corners to epic drops and unexpected twists, every ride delivers its own unique thrills and memories. By the end of the adventure, the biggest challenge won’t be choosing whether to ride again — it’ll be deciding which track was your favourite.
