You’re in for two absolutely unforgettable days around Abel Tasman with these two activities – a mind-blowing canyoning adventure in the Kahurangi National Park and a sailing adventure seeing all the highlights of the beautiful Abel Tasman National Park.

Blue Creek Canyoning Adventure

Not keen on getting too wet but love abseiling?

Apart from a couple of waist-deep pools Blue Creek is a dry canyoning trip. This stunning Kahurangi canyon is deep and narrow as it was carved into a softer type of rock over many years. In some places you can touch both walls at the same time and if you look up you’ll only see a sliver of daylight. It really feels like you’re getting absorbed by the earth. If you ask your guides nicely they might even try to keep your feet dry on this one. By the end of this trip, you’ll be an abseiling pro!

Location: Kahurangi National Park
Departure: 7am from Motueka
Return: ±4:30pm in Motueka
Free pick up: Marahau, Kaiteriteri, Riwaka, Motueka, Tapawera
Nelson transport: $15 pp one way
Included: Professional guides, gear, delicious lunch, snacks and drinks, photos and videos
Minimum number of people: 3 (if they don’t have minimum numbers when you book they’ll put you on a waitlist)
Minimum age: 12
You need: Comfortable, active clothing and closed toed shoes
Season: 1 October – 30 April

What is Canyoning?

Canyoning is one of the newer Abel Tasman activities. It is a combination of lots of fun stuff all bunched into one exciting activity. Trips normally start with a walk through beautiful scenery. Then it’s time to get the rubber suits on and start making your way down the canyon. We jump off cliffs into deep pools below, slide down water polished chutes and abseil besides or sometimes even through showering waterfalls. Most of the time you’ll be surrounded by steep walls covered in moss and ferns. And of course your guides will make sure you know exactly what to do. Going on a trip is the only way anyone can get to see these stunning places and experience all the fun stuff Mother Nature throws at you.

Full Day Sail in the Abel Tasman National Park
