During this tour, you’ll gently paddle in a small group alongside your nature guide, hugging the coastline as you go. Your guide will point out features of interest and any wildlife encountered along the way. Depending on nature’s movements on the day, you may enjoy chance sightings of endangered species such as Hector’s dolphins, white-flippered penguins, New Zealand fur seals, and a wide variety of seabirds.

As you explore remote bays and inlets, you’ll hear stories about the extinct volcano you’re paddling through. Akaroa is rich in Māori history, and its waters were once teeming with whales—your guide will share a few fascinating stories as you journey along. You’ll also enjoy discovering remarkable geological features while gliding through the stunning turquoise waters of the marine reserve.
