Meet Takaro Trails at their shop in Ahuriri, Napier or they can pick you you from your accommodation. After being fitted with bikes, information & everything else you need, Takaro Trails will transfer you to the start of your adventure at the Black Barn winery.
Te Mata Estate and Akarangi are very close by so you can start your wine tasting early! From here you enjoy a 16km cycle on the limestone cycle trail following the Tuki Tuki River, to the coastal communities of Haumoana and Te Awanga. The views are stunning as you cycle the raised stop-bank trail and look out over orchards, vineyards and farmlands. Reaching the coast you’ll be ready to taste some more fine wine at Elephant Hill, Clearview Estate and Te Awanga Estate.
If lunch is on your ‘wish-list’ Takaro Trails are happy to assist with reservations at Clearview Estate. Te Awanga also offer the best pizzas in Hawke’s Bay and you can sit outside on their green lawn.

Art Deco Vintage Car Tour
Climb aboard a vintage car for a guided tour of Napier’s world famous Art Deco Heritage districts. It’s informative, unique and may have you feeling like your living in another era!
The original town of Napier was levelled by a dramatic and devastating earthquake in 1931 but was completely rebuilt within a remarkable 2 year period in the contemporary style of the times; Art Deco. Relive the glamour and style of the jazz era with a luxurious vintage car tour.
You’ll be met your driver, in Art Deco costume, who will provide a fascinating commentary as you are driven in style, through Napier and surrounding areas. You’ll learn about the earthquake that destroyed the city, hear stories of the people that led the rebuild, and discover the Art Deco style. En route you will stop in Ahuriri and visit one of the most photographed buildings in New Zealand, the National Tobacco Company building.
You’ll return to the Art Deco Centre or your central Napier hotel filled with a new appreciation for the city and the people who survived New Zealand’s worst natural disaster in modern times.
